Born and raised in Washington, D.C., JeanMarc has spent more than fifteen years making images for artists, executives, families and institutions, work that has run in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Essence, People and Black Enterprise.
THE STORY
"I make images for people building something that lasts."
Jonathan Mark Harris Jr., known professionally as JeanMarc, grew up ambitious and strong-minded in Washington, D.C. His first taste of production came as a sit-in talent on BET's Teen Summit and Our Voices, followed by an internship with The HistoryMakers, the archive that records the stories of those who shaped Black history.
He studied TV and radio journalism at Bowie State University while working at Radio One, where he spent five years as a marketing and promotions coordinator. He then moved to Winter Park, Florida, to earn his master's degree in film production at Full Sail University.
A stint in San Antonio producing commercial and social content for a local investment group was followed by a return home to D.C., where he served as a Senior Communication Specialist at the Center for Naval Analyses. His entrepreneurial streak won out, and he now runs JeanMarc Photo full time, producing photography and film across D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Today the studio pairs that editorial eye with an AI Studio for photo restoration, legacy films and campaign concepts, always directed by a photographer, never left to the machine.
